I had this on my toast this morning. It's delicious. I'm certain this will become a family favorite, to be made year after year.
Cover the diced pears and the ground oranges with the sugar and let stand overnight.
Add the pear, orange and sugar mixture to your cooking pot, along with the crushed pineapple.
Cook until the fruit is transparent, about 2 hours. Stir frequently to keep the fruit from burning.
Put the fruit mixture into hot pint or half-pint jars. Process in a boiling-water bath for 20 minutes.
Makes 5 pints.
